“Travelling – it leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller.” – Ibn Battuta
Travelling is one activity, that one hobby, which you don’t do just for physical or mental fitness. Travelling is workout for the soul. Whenever you find yourself stuck in your hectic life, exploring a new place energizes your body and refreshes your mind. Many times you make plans but are unable to execute them for one or the other reason. And for majority of it, the reason is “I can’t find a companion to go with me”. Don’t let this silly excuse from exploring the world. Become a solo traveller and see the world through your own eyes, in your own company. Here are a few tips if you are planning to travel solo:
PLAN, PLAN, PLAN!
Plan in advance which places you’re going to go, where you are going to stay, what is your budget, and all the safety parameters of the places you’re going to visit, especially if you’re a woman. A good planning not only makes your trip safe and comfortable, it will also save you a lot of bucks if you do it smartly.
BE A BACKPACKER
One important thing to keep in mind when you’re travelling solo is that you will have to carry your entire luggage, all the time. Keep your luggage minimum, preferably, just a single backpack, so that it is easy to take care of and carry it around. If you’re going on a one week trip, you don’t need more than a couple of pair of jeans and few t-shirts. You will thank yourself later if you follow this advice.
MEET NEW PEOPLE
Now you’re travelling alone, don’t forget to strike a conversation with an interesting random stranger. You never know what story they might unfold for you!
DON’T LOOK LIKE AN OBVIOUS TOURIST
Don’t keep your camera, pouch, flashy technology, and all that stuff hanging around. Keep it minimum and avoid looking like a tourist to avoid any trouble. Be confident.
And the most important thing, don’t forget to enjoy!
