Mango: the fruit king is here in the town again!!

This summer season try experimenting different dishes from mango. Here are 5 simple recipes that you can prepare at home, using mangoes differently.

  • Mango Lassi: Enjoy traditional Punjabi drink with a flavor of mango this season.

Procedure: Blend yoghurt (1 cup), mango cubes(4-5 cubes), ice cubes and sugar (as required) together and here is your refreshing Mango Lassi ready. You can also add malai/cream to make your drink creamy and more tasty.

Mango Lassi

  • Mango Ice-cream: Simple steps to prepare yummy mango ice cream at home.

Procedure: Blend in 2 big mangoes (Alphonso Mangoes), Amul Fresh Cream(200grams), Amul condensed milk (1 tin).Freeze the creamy mixture for 9-10 hours. Enjoy Mangolicious Scoops!!Recipe Advice: Before adding sugar, taste the sweetness of the creamy mixture after blending the whole thing. Add sugar only if it is less.

Mango Ice-cream

  • Mango Shrikhand: Soothing mango and yoghurt flavor will surely pamper your taste buds.

Procedure: Blend together hung curd, mango pulp, cardamom seeds (4-5), sugar (as required) and pinch of saffron, until the mixture is smooth. Refrigerate it for some time. Garnish it with crushed pistachio.Enjoy Mango Shrikhand with pooris.

Mango Shrikhand

  • Mango Banana Milkshake: Authentic mango shake with a new flavor.

Procedure: Add 1 banana, a mango (Alphonso mango), sugar (as per taste), milk (1 cup) and ice-cubes to a blender and mix them well. Pour into a tall glass and garnish it with nuts and almonds. Beat the heat with yummy shake.

  • Aam Panna: Natural Coolant for the body, prevents you from heat strokes. Sweet and sour drink, made from raw mangoes.

Procedure: Steam in 1 or 2 raw mangoes, until they are soft and pulpy. Remove the mango peels. Blend together mango pulp, black salt (2 tablespoon), jaggery/gur (Double the amount of mango pulp), cardamom seeds (2-3 crushed), black pepper (2 tablespoons, optional), roasted jeera(cumin) powder. You can preserve this concentrated mixture for 4-5 days and dilute it by adding cold water to it. Garnish the drink with mint leaves. Enjoy tangy mango drink!!
